It is the oldest temple in the city and is accompanied by a five-story pagoda and a Shinto shrine, the Asakusa Jinja. In late spring, Senso-ji annually plays host to Tokyo's largest Shinto festival, the Sanja Matsuri, which lasts for three to four days.
